How to measure the size & quality of cricket bat

As it is a first time for you to buy the cricket bat, you should know what size will be correct for you. It is easy to determine the proper size for you. You just need to visit any of the nearby sports store and check out different lengths of cricket bats.

Hold the bat properly and place it beside your front foot’s heel and stand like a batting position.  If the handle comfortably fits within your groin area then it is the correct size for you. As you recognize what length is right for you, just note down it.

Now if you are not able to find the good quality in nearby store, then you can visit online store to find a better deal of your choice. After that you should think about the grade of wood. Grade is nothing but measurement of the quality which starts from G1+, G1, G2, G3 and G4. Generally the G1+ grade is called the best, and G4 is the worst quality. If you are beginner and getting a bat for training then G4 will be good for you. Professional players usually use G1+ quality bat.

Cricket Ball: Consider the quality before buying it!

A good quality cricket ball will last for the whole match. Premium quality is major concern for various reasons such as:

  • It will not scratch the cricket bat.
  • It will swing easily and helps the speedy bowlers.
  • It will be easy to handle them and they will not damage your fingers.

Most of the amateur cricketers think that the red color shiny ball is from good quality and they are not wrong as they might have seen them in international matches.  However, they are not aware about the fact that is the balls used in International matches are prepared out of natural leather.

Natural leather has innate shine, so there is no need to apply any polish on them in order to get shine. But on the other hand, some of the economical producers of balls paint them with a coat of shiny polish to make them look similar to the natural leather. But, this type of shiny coat will come out after some overs. Shiny paints not only harden the ball but they will cause to break the cricket bat also. So if you have planned to buy the ball than properly check for the quality.
