HISTORY OF LITTLE MASTER
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born in Bombay his father, Ramesh Tendulkar, a Marathi novelist, named Tendulkar after his favourite music director, Sachin Dev Burman. Tendulkar’s elder brother Ajit encouraged him to play cricket.
Tendulkar attend Sharadashram Vidyamandir where he began his cricketing career under the guidance of his coach Ramakant Achrekar.
When he was young, Tendulkar would practice for hours in the nets. Achrekar would put a one-Rupee-coin on the top of the stumps, and the bowler who dismissed Sachin would get the coin. If Tendulkar passed the session without getting dismiss, his coach would give him the coin. Tendulkar now considers the 13 coins.
His season in 1988 was surprising, with Tendulkar scoring a century in every innings he played. He was involved in an unbroken 664-run partnership in a Lord Harris Shield inter-school game with his friend and team mate Vinod Kambli.
When he was 14, Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar gave him a pair of his own pads. “It was the supreme source of encouragement for me,” he said nearly 20 years later after surpassing Gavaskar’s top world record of 34 Test centuries. Tendulkar never played for any Under-19 teams, crossing straight into the seniors.In 1995, Sachin Tendulkar married Anjali. They have two children, Sara and Arjun.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is an Indian cricketer commonly regard as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. In 2002, Wisden ranked him the second greatest Test batsman next to Bradman, and the second greatest ODI batsman of all time, next to Vivian Richards. In September 2007, the Australian cricketer Shane Warne rate Sachin as the greatest player. Sachin will also be called as “little master”.
Tendulkar is the maximum run scorer in both Test and ODIs , and also with the most centuries in either form of the game. He is the first player to score fifty centuries in international cricket combined.
In 2008 OCT 17, when he passed Brian Lara’s record for the majority of runs scored in Test Cricket, he also became the first batsman to score 12,000 runs in this form of game, he also been the third batsman and first Indian to pass 11,000 runs in Test cricket. He was the first player to score 10,000 runs in ODI, and also the first player to cross every subsequent 1000-run mark that has been crossed in ODI cricket history. In the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Tendulkar surpass Australia’s Border to become the player to cross the 50-run most number of times in Test cricket history, and also the second ever player to score 10 Test centuries against Australia, after only Sir Jack Hobbs .Tendulkar has been privileged with the Padma Vibhushan award, India’s second highest civilian award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India’s highest sporting honor.
