Ricky Ponting is not retiring this summer
There was speculation that Ricky Ponting will retire this summer. But all the rumors came to a standstill when he said he is happy playing cricket for Australia and captaining the country. Ponting will be playing Ashes campaign and 2011 World cup before deciding his future. A Television report hinted that the fifth Ashes Test in Sydney could be Ponting’s last. But his manager James Henderson said that the speculation was inaccurate. Till date, Ponting has played 146 Test matches and 351 one-day internationals. His batting average in Test cricket is 54.66 and his highest Test score is 257.
